ORGANIZATION PROFILE: The Missouri History Museum seeks to deepen the understanding of past choices, present circumstances, and future possibilities; strengthen the bonds of the community; and facilitate solutions to common problems.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Missouri History Museum is accepting applications from students who are interested in an un-paid internship with our Institutional Advancement department.
The intern will report to the Director of Development and will assist in executing annual fund development plan including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition of membership.
The internship responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
• Assists with membership and development event coordination
• Research targeted donor prospect groups and compile reports
• Assists with the preparation of membership fulfillment packets
• Assists with the Time Travelers reciprocal membership program
• Assists Development Director with donor communication
• Promotes and nurtures productive working relationships
• Undertakes other Development activities as assigned
The intern must have solid written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills. The desired intern will be able to interact with staff, members, donors and volunteers and have the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. This position may also require the intern to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
REQUIREMENTS (if any): The internship will require 10-40 hours per week, 2-5 days per week.
Candidates should be college students (Junior or Senior) with an interest in non-profit professional development and the mission of the Missouri History Museum.
