ORGANIZATION PROFILE: Founded in 1957, the Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the nation's largest and oldest provider of conservation service opportunities, outdoor education, and leadership training for youth. SCA places volunteers and interns, the majority of whom range from 16-25, in conservation service
positions in parks, forests, refuges, and urban areas in all 50 states. These efforts benefit the environment as well as participants who learn new skills, make career contacts and expand personal capacities. Locations include, but are not limited to:

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Participating in an SCA program is your chance to join more than 5000 people who each year enjoy exciting and challenging work and service opportunities in national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, urban greenways, and wildlands nationwide. Position lengths vary from 12 weeks to 12 months and are available throughout the country. To qualify you must be 18 years or older. Benefits include free housing, weekly stipend, travel expenses, and ability to earn an educational award of up to $4,725.
Anyone 18 years of age or older who has graduated from high school may apply. While most interns are college students, YOU NEED NOT BE A STUDENT TO QUALIFY. There is no upper age limit. Each individual position may have more specific required or desired qualifications.
